Concept of Metaphor in Linguistics

Abstract

One of the topical issues of today is the study of the theoretical
basis of linguistics, including in the field of phraseology of metaphor. The
article discusses the theoretical foundations of metaphor, i.e. based on
the study of the essence and concept of metaphor in linguistics, theories
of scientists about metaphor are proposed, the essence of metaphorical
rethinking is disclosed, the types of metaphor are revealed: nominative,
cognitive, generalizing, figurative, simple and detailed, worn out and
speech metaphors, and concepts of orientational, structural, ontological
and chemical metaphors.
